Water reserves of the hydroelectric plants

PPC informs that the inflows in the reservoirs for the time period 1/2/09 - 17/2/09 were increased vs the respective periods of the previous years by:

• 310% vs 2008,
• 186% vs 2007,
• 98% vs 2006 and
• 45% vs 2005

In addition, total water reserves on 17/2/09 were higher compared to the respective date in the previous years by:

• 61% vs 2008,
• 68% vs 2007,
• 3,6% vs 2006 and
• 3,2% vs 2005.

The evolution of the water levels and inflows in PPC reservoirs is depicted in the following table:

The System Marginal Price (SMP) in Greece for the period 1/2/09 - 17/2/09 is estimated at € 52.6 / MWh. The significant decrease of the SMP is mainly attributed to the substantial decline in the international fuel prices.
