PPC is now ranked among the world's leading energy companies in ESG performance, having achieved ISS STOXX Prime Status. Its overall performance score increased to 50.83 from 47.04, resulting in an upgrade of its overall rating to “B-” from “C+”, further strengthening the Group’s international recognition for its ESG performance.
This latest upgrade reflects PPC Group’s steady progress in embedding responsible environmental, social and governance practices across the full scope of its operations.
Achieving Prime Status represents a major distinction for PPC Group, certifying that it ranks among the companies meeting ISS STOXX’s highest sustainability standards for the Electric Utilities sector. Within this sector, Prime Status is awarded to companies rated B- or higher, a rating now achieved by PPC. This distinction recognizes the effective management of material environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, as well as a company’s ability to mitigate related risks and generate positive environmental and social impact.
ISS STOXX, one of the world's leading sustainability research and rating organizations, assesses companies' performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters, as well as their ability to identify and manage the related risks and opportunities across their sectors of activity. It is the responsible investment arm of Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. and has more than 25 years of expertise in ESG research, assessing more than 8,600 companies and serving approximately 5,000 clients, including many of the world's leading institutional investors. The ISS STOXX Corporate Rating is an internationally recognized benchmark for assessing corporate sustainability performance and is widely used by the global investment community to integrate ESG considerations into investment decisions.
