While there are many factors contributing to the success of new branches, there are 5 key strategies and tactics that are proven to have the greatest impact on success:

1.      1.  It's all about location. The surprise is not that location is important, but that it accounts for 60-70% of a branch's success. Locational  factors -- density of potential customers, number of competitors, and specific site characteristics - are the dominant predictors of future branch growth. Simply put, in some locations you have more wind at your back and therefore a higher probability of success.  But how do you measure potential so you invest in the best location among many potential good choices?
